Microsoft launches adaptive accessories for people with disabilities

Many companies emphasize providing a better experience when designing products. Of course, this is all based on normal people. But in the world we live in, there are many people with disabilities who also need to use modern electronic devices, integrated into the life of modern society, quite a few products may not be suitable for their use, which requires customized or targeted design. However, when it comes to individuals because the actual situation of the disabled will be different, it is difficult to match them well, which may eventually lead to difficult production or expensive pricing of the project.

On the Windows 11 operating system released last year, Microsoft added new accessibility features to bring a better experience to some special people. As a major manufacturer of peripherals, Microsoft has recently launched a series of adaptive accessories for the needs of the disabled. These accessories are mainly composed of three tools, namely adaptive mouse, adaptive hub, and adaptive button.

At the heart of an adaptive mouse is a device that houses a square stacked disk of left and right buttons, a scroll wheel, and a sensor. In addition to the mouse tail provided by Microsoft, users can choose to customize the mouse tail by 3D printing to match and obtain a unique mouse to suit their own needs. The adaptive hub can connect up to three devices wirelessly or via USB-C, and wirelessly connect up to four adaptive buttons. The Adaptive Button provides eight customizable buttons to perform different actions, and users can also 3D print the tops of the buttons to customize them according to their needs.
