Microsoft identified cyber attacks related to Iranian hackers

Microsoft said that it has discovered and identified cyber attacks related to Iranian hackers in the past two years that have attacked thousands of people in more than 200 companies. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, hacking attacks have stolen a large number of corporate secrets, causing economic losses and including the destruction of data from computers.

Microsoft described in the Wall Street Journal as saying that cyber attacks have affected oil and gas companies and heavy machinery manufacturers in several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, and the United States, and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in losses.

Microsoft blamed these attacks on an organization called Holmium, which security researchers call APT33. Microsoft said it found more than 2,200 people receiving phishing emails from them that could install malicious code.

Researchers have found that the innovation and establishment of complex malware in the past was mostly contributed by international hacking organizations based on economic interests, but now this role has been replaced by state-level hackers who are supported by Gov.
