Microsoft Edge 81 will be releases in early April

Earlier, Microsoft announced that it would suspend the update of the Edge browser due to the coronavirus outbreak. Yesterday, Microsoft issued another announcement, saying that it will continue to follow the changed Chromium development schedule and resume the Edge update according to the new time plan.

A new schedule indicates that a stable version of Microsoft Edge 81 will be released in early April. Next, like Chrome, Microsoft skips Edge version 82. Microsoft Edge 83 is expected to be released in mid-May.

Microsoft writes:

Following the updated Chromium schedule, we are adjusting our schedule for upcoming Microsoft Edge releases and cancelling the version 82 release. Microsoft Edge 81 will release to Stable in early April, followed by an early release of Microsoft Edge 83 in mid-May.

After that, everything will return to normal, with updates released every six weeks. Currently, Edge 83 has been tested in Dev and Canary channels and may enter Beta soon after the stable release of Edge 81.
