Microsoft continous to improve OneDrive

Microsoft has just brought a wave of updates to Office, including some improvements to the OneDrive cloud, such as annotations for non-Office documents. Often, as a way of collaborating, users can leave comments in the office documents. But now, this feature has been extended to any file type outside of the Office format. “This month we extend the same functionality to all files allowing you to work together not just in Office documents but with photos, CAD drawings, PDF’s and more. Users will now have the ability to add comments to files as part of their review process, leaving notes and getting notifications to ensure you are always in the loop.”

Another new feature is the sharing of “Popular Around Me”, which displays files that users frequently access and have access to. In addition, users can get a direct link to a specific file in a PPT presentation shared on the web.

The OneDrive sync client now supports Windows Server 2019 with Files On-Demand, so if you’re running in virtual, you’ll save space and speed up the initial synchronization process.
