Microsoft brings a “Startup boost” function to Microsoft Edge

Microsoft is testing a new feature in the Microsoft Edge canary version. This feature is called a “startup boost” to improve browser speed.

Under normal circumstances, the user needs to wait for more than a few seconds to click the icon after closing the browser, and the startup page will not open until the browser completes the process preparation in the background.

However, this will obviously increase the waiting time for users and consume the patience of users, so Microsoft is ready to improve the idea and directly start the browser during the system startup phase.

The browser starts automatically when the system is turned on. In fact, Microsoft supported it in earlier versions of Internet Explorer, but this feature was later taken offline and no one paid attention.

This time, the new features Microsoft brings in Microsoft Edge are similar. When the system starts, some background processes of the browser will also follow the system startup.

In fact, it is equivalent to the completion of the preparation phase after the background process of the browser is turned on, so when the user clicks the browser icon, it can be opened every second. Of course, this function is optional. Users can turn on or off this option in the browser settings (Edge > Settings > System).

It is worth noting that this feature should also be available on Google Chrome, and the related feature source code has been submitted to the Chromium open source project to complete the merger.
