LibreOffice 5.4 released: improve compatibility with Microsoft Office


LibreOffice 5.4 has been released, each module has some new features, and Microsoft Office file compatibility has been some improvements.

Improve document flexibility and interoperability

The XML description of the new document is 50% smaller than in the case of ODF (ODT) and 90% or less in the case of OOXML (DOCX).

Other highlights

  • Based on the RYB color model, bringing a new standard palette
  • File format compatibility is improved to better support EM F vector images
  • Whether it is inserted into the document or import, export PDF files are presented with better quality
  • Supports OpenPGP keys for signing ODF documents on Linux
