LG is working with Huawei and Lenovo to develop a foldable smartphone/tablet

Samsung has already attracted a lot of attention after the flexible screen folding device that was displayed earlier. There is no doubt that the foldable device is the new favourite of the smartphone market.

Although Samsung will provide flexible screens to other manufacturers in addition to its research and development of collapsible devices, it seems that domestic manufacturers do not want to use Samsung products.

Developed foldable equipment in cooperation with LG:

South Korean media reported that domestic manufacturers such as Huawei and Lenovo and Xiaomi are working with LG to form a foldable mobile device with a flexible screen.

At the same time, LG will also provide flexible screens for these manufacturers to develop and produce, but it seems that the foldable devices using flexible displays are not just smartphones.

The report said that LG and Lenovo are developing a 13.3-inch foldable display, which is used for tablets or other forms of equipment.

The screen resolution can reach 2560 * 1600 or so. It is expected to be produced in the third quarter of 2019 and Lenovo will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2019.

There is also a 6-inch foldable flexible screen:

On the smartphone side, LG is developing a 6-inch display that can be folded outwards with Huawei. After folding, the screen can continue to display the content on both sides.

This is somewhat different from the prototype of the foldable device that Samsung previously demonstrated inward folding and then the secondary screen, but there should be no significant difference in use.

The Korean media also mentioned that Huawei is also working with domestic display manufacturer BOE to develop similar products, and folding equipment seems to be a new wave.

Finally, LG is still working on a similar project with Xiaomi, but the content is not disclosed in the Korean media. It may be revealed later.
