LG launched the Gram + view 16MQ70 portable monitor

LG’s Gram series notebooks have always been well received by users who pay attention to portability. LG’s thin and light notebooks have always been well controlled in terms of weight, but LG doesn’t seem to want the Gram to be limited to notebooks, and also wants to make some equally lightweight accessories. Now their latest launch is a Gram + view 16MQ70 portable monitor.

Gram + view 16MQ70 portable monitor

Portable monitors are still quite popular nowadays. There are a lot of products available from big and small brands, but LG Gram +view 16MQ70 still has some advantageous features. First of all, it is a 16-inch monitor, which is larger than today’s 15.6-based portable monitor, plus the design of ultra-narrow bezels. The volume is not much larger, in fact, mainly because it adopts the rare 16:10 ratio, and the resolution also reaches the true 2K level of 2560*1600, which may be the same panel used in the LG Gram 16 notebook.

In terms of other specifications of this screen, it also includes an IPS panel with a viewing angle of 170°, covering 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, a maximum brightness of 350nit, etc., but it only has a 60Hz refresh rate, and a response time of 30ms. It is mainly for office use and ordinary film and television use. It only has two USB-C ports, uses a one-line communication method, and does not provide HDMI, so it cannot be connected to Switch and other game consoles.

Since it is a product of the Gram series, it must be a surprise in terms of weight. The Gram +view 16MQ70 is only 670g, which is the weight of three mobile phones today. Even with the stand cover, it is only 990g. It is very lightweight in a portable monitor, and the thickness of the body is only 8.3mm, so it is very suitable for carrying out as a secondary screen of a notebook or mobile phone.

If you are using a Gram notebook, with this screen, the total travel weight may not exceed 2kg, but you can have two large screens, which can still improve a lot of work efficiency. At present, LG’s suggested retail price is $349.
