Lenovo Legion Play prototype went on sale in China

In 2021, there were reports that Lenovo was developing an Android handheld called Legion Play. Although Lenovo has never confirmed this product, the relevant information has been left on the official website, which at least shows that Lenovo has plans to sell it.

According to Lilliputing reports, a batch of Lenovo Legion Play prototypes have been released on the market in China recently, and the price is around $160. Some netizens who bought the prototype also released a trial video, showing its hardware, software, and running games. If Lenovo really sells this product, the price will certainly not be so low.

According to the introduction leaked by Lenovo at the time, Legion Play is a cloud game handheld that allows users to play hundreds of games, and the game library is connected to the device in a streaming form. It uses a 7-inch 16:9 display, FHD resolution, supports HDR10, 4GB memory, 64GB storage space, built-in handle, dual speakers, dual vibration, and a 7000mAh battery, and can output video through a USB-C connection. In addition, the Legion Play is pre-installed with the Android 11 system and weighs 436 grams.

It’s unclear why Lenovo ultimately decided not to bring the Legion Play to market, with the device rumored to have initially been considered at MWC 2021. Maybe Lenovo isn’t quite ready or doesn’t think there’s enough demand for an Android handheld designed for cloud gaming.
