Kia may still establish a partnership with Apple for the car business

Last year, various media outlets stated that Apple and Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai Korea, signed a memorandum of understanding. The content is that Apple will cooperate with Kia in eight areas, including electric vehicles.

But earlier this month, as the news of Apple building cars spread, Hyundai and Kia also responded under regulatory pressure that they did not discuss cooperation with Apple on the development of self-driving electric vehicles.

Today, Reuters reported that Kia may still establish a cooperative relationship with Apple in the car-making business. This is because their negotiations with Apple have not been canceled, but have temporarily encountered difficulties.

In addition, Korean media also said that the scope of Kia’s negotiations with Apple is quite extensive, and there is room for further expansion.

In any case, the relevant people believe that Apple’s electric car is still several years away from the release, and it will not be seen until 2024 at least, and it may be delayed until 2028 at the latest.
