As a long-term support version, the KDE Plasma 5.12 desktop environment receives a maintenance release every six months and will be discontinued in July 2020. KDE Plasma 5.12.9 LTS is currently scheduled for release on September 10, 2019. Prior to this, if you are still using the KDE Plasma 5.12 LTS desktop environment on your GNU/Linux distribution, we recommend that you update it to today’s KDE Plasma 5.12.8 version as soon as possible.
