iOS 14.5 supported the connection of Xbox and PS5 gamepads via Bluetooth

Apple yesterday released the official version of iOS 14.5. In this version, Apple’s new app tracking transparency has attracted attention, but in fact, the new version has other new features.

Some of the new features Apple did not mention in the press release at all, but gamepads such as Xbox and PS5 do now support Bluetooth connection to the iPhone.

This may be good news for some users because users no longer need to connect a gamepad through a cumbersome cable to use the gamepad to operate the game.

Especially now that Microsoft’s cloud games have been provided to iOS users through the browser, you can naturally get a better experience when you can connect to the Xbox controller and play games.

The whole pairing process is also very simple, the Xbox controller only needs to press and hold the PAIR button, and then you can see the corresponding device in the Bluetooth option of iOS 14.5.

The PS5 handle needs to hold down the Share and PS buttons at the same time until the indicator light on the touch bar starts to flash, and you can click to pair with it to complete the connection in iOS 14.5.
