iOS 12 has been officially launched and can be downloaded from the system. This release mainly brings performance improvements, a new AR experience, and Memoji.

iOS 12 beta

Performance improvement

iOS 12 delivers performance improvements across the system and on more devices, allowing older devices to run operating systems and other applications more smoothly, as well as older devices such as the iPhone 5s introduced in 2013. The camera’s startup speed is increased by 70%, the keyboard display speed is increased by 50%, the typing response is also faster, and in some cases, the application’s startup speed can be doubled.

New AR experience

iOS 12 introduces a new AR experience, and with the new shared AR experience, multiple people can play a game together or collaborate on projects such as home renovations and school assignments. Persistence AR changes the way people interact with AR through a mechanism in which users can switch between reality and virtual worlds. AR in iOS 12 is a more realistic blend of virtual and real-world, supporting image detection and tracking, detecting 3D objects and automatically mapping.

The new Animoji and customizable and fun personalized Memoji characters are more expressive. Memoji can be created in the message through a series of feature selections to create a unique personalized character. The existing Animoji characters ghost, koala, tiger, and T. rex are also extended.
