Intel will have a DG2 GPU with 448 EUs

According to previous information, the Intel ARC Alchemist graphics card will have at least three configurations of 512EU, 384EU, and 128EU, corresponding to 4096, 3072, and 1024 stream processors, while Intel has only shown 512EU and 128EU models. The most high-end DG2-512 GPU will have performance comparable to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070.

Recently, Intel has updated Mesa (open-source driver for OpenGL and Vulkan), which was released by Franciso Jerez of the Intel team, which clearly mentioned the DG2-448 GPU. I believe this is a simplified version of the same chip as DG2-512, with 3584 stream processors. In fact, there have been rumors of DG2-448 GPU before, but this time it has been confirmed. At the time, the news stated that the performance of this GPU and GeForce RTX 3070 would not be much different, but it did not specify what benchmark was tested. The configuration of this GPU should be more suitable for the mainstream market.

It is rumored that the Alchemist graphics card will also have a 256EU configuration version with 2048 stream processors, but it needs to wait for further confirmation. In addition, Intel targets GPUs on desktop platforms and mobile platforms and may differ in configuration. At present, there are still many questions about the lineup of Intel’s Alchemist graphics product line. It is not surprising that some EUs are disabled for downgrade sales. The problem is how to divide the positioning. It may have to wait for Intel to announce more information in the first quarter of next year.
