Intel Sapphire Rapids workstation CPU specs leaked

Previously, some netizens found traces of a new Sapphire Rapids processor model number W9-3495, which is equipped with 56 cores and 112 threads, and confirmed that AVX-512 and AMX instructions are enabled. With the exposure of the Xeon processor and Fishhawk Falls platform used in the new generation of workstations, more details gradually surfaced.

According to VideoCardz, the Xeon processors used in the new generation of workstations will also cover the original HEDT platform to a certain extent, replacing the previous Cascade Lake-X position. The Sapphire Rapids workstation processor uses the Golden Cove architecture core and is manufactured using the Intel 7 (10nm Enhanced SuperFin) process. Only equipped with large cores, it will be divided into three series, W9 (300W to 350W), W7 (270W to 300W), and W5 (220W to 270W), among which the frequency is up to 3.2 GHz, and most of the others run at 2.x GHz frequency.

The flagship model is the Xeon W9-3495X, equipped with 56 cores and 112 threads, an L3 cache of 105MB, and a TDP of 350W. Its X suffix seems to indicate that overclocking is possible, but the base frequency is only 1.9 GHz, and the acceleration frequency is unclear. The Xeon W5-3425 with 12 cores and 24 threads and the Xeon W5-3435X with 16 cores and 32 threads exceeded 3 GHz in frequency, at 3.2 GHz and 3.1 GHz respectively. If the number of cores is 28 or more, the TDP will be 300W or more.
