Intel may launch ARC Druid graphics cards in 2025

Intel’s GPU development plan has been circulated on the Internet, as well as the naming and title of the official guidelines. Intel Arc is Intel’s new high-performance gaming graphics card brand, the first generation product is the Alchemist graphics card (DG2). The series will be named “Arc aXXX”, where “a” represents the first-generation GPU under the brand, which is Alchemist.

It is rumored that Alchemist graphics cards will be launched on mobile platforms in the first quarter of 2022, and will be extended to desktop platforms in the second quarter. Based on the new Xe Core, manufactured with TSMC’s N6 process, it will support hardware-based ray tracing and artificial intelligence-driven super sampling (XeSS), providing full support for DirectX 12 Ultimate. According to Intel’s announced development plan, Alchemist is followed by Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid, a total of four generations of products. Different from the previous three generations, the fourth generation of Druid will use the new Xe architecture to replace the original Xe-HPG architecture.

Although Intel disclosed the GPU development plan, it did not specify the timetable for the corresponding product. According to Bryce, an Intel ARC Community Advocate PM, ARC Druid graphics cards may be released in 2025. If you follow this arrangement, it means that Intel needs to update its graphics product line every year, instead of updating its architecture every two years like its competitors.
