Intel driver confirms some Alchemist graphics card names

Although the release of Intel’s first-generation Intel Arc graphics card is imminent, how Intel lays out its product line has always been a mystery, and there are likely to be many differences between the desktop platform and the mobile platform. It is said that the first batch of ARC discrete graphics cards will be for mobile platforms and will be launched with the Alder Lake mobile version in the first quarter of 2022, and the desktop version will only be launched in the second quarter of 2022.

Recently, Intel accidentally released a test version of the graphics card driver on the website, originally used in the NUC 11 kit, the version number is 30.0.101.9999, which contains many unreleased hardware IDs. The SYS file of the driver shows that the Xe-HPG architecture GPU called Arc Alchemist will have four series, two for desktop and two for mobile platforms, respectively:
  • Intel Arc A380
  • Intel Arc A350
  • Intel Arc A370M
  • Intel Arc A350M
  • Intel Arc A380
  • Intel Iris Xe A200M
This should be the first time that Intel officially knows the specific name of the new discrete graphics card, and it is directly confirmed by Intel, rather than some PPT or schedule. According to previous information, there may be as many as five DG2 series GPUs with different core numbers and memory configurations. Intel Arc A380 appeared some time ago. Twitter user @TUM_APISAK revealed that this graphics card has the same performance as GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER, with a core frequency of 2.45 GHz and 6GB of GDDR6 memory.

More interestingly, this beta graphics card driver from Intel also supports the DG3 series GPU code-named “Elasti”, as well as a variety of CPU core displays, including Raptor Lake, Meteor Lake, Arrow Lake, and Lunar Lake. The configuration file confirms that Meteor Lake will be equipped with 192 EUs, while Arrow Lake will reach 384 EUs.
