HP releases OMEN 27c QHD curved 240Hz gaming monitor

Hewlett-Packard (HP) recently released a new monitor, adding a member to its Omen series of gaming products. This time, the newly launched Omen 27c is a curved display. The c in the name should give a good indication of the property of the curved surface. The size of Omen 27c is 27 inches, which is also the mainstream size in gaming monitors. The resolution is 2560*1440, and the refresh rate is up to 240Hz, which is more than enough for e-sports or 3A games. 240Hz can give mainstream players a very good smooth experience, and the 2K resolution of 2560*1440 also allows players to get a clear game screen. However, due to the relationship of the VA panel, I believe there will be a certain degree of smear problem. In terms of curvature, Omen 27c has a curvature of 1000R, which is the closest to a straight screen among curved screens and is also in line with a 16:9 viewing angle.

According to HP’s official introduction, the paper color parameters of Omen 27c are good, with 90% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, but I don’t know what the color accuracy is. With the display’s peak brightness of 450 nits, Omen 27c has passed the VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, and the characteristics of the VA panel also give this display a contrast ratio of up to 3000:1.

As a gaming monitor, gaming functions are definitely indispensable. Omen 27c is equipped with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, but it is not clear and not compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync. HP also equipped this monitor with Omen Gaming Hub and Eye Ease software.

Finally, in terms of interfaces, Omen 27c has 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 DP 1.4, 2 USB 3.2 Gen 2, and 1 USB Type-C interface, which is enough for gamers. Although this monitor has not been officially listed yet, it is officially priced at $530.
