Google restores Huawei MATE 20 PRO from the Android Q beta devices list

Earlier, we mentioned that the ban on Google has stopped authorizing Android with Google’s proprietary services for Huawei. At the same time, Google also removed the Huawei MATE 20 PRO from the Android Q beta. But Google seems to have an idea to overturn the company’s decision made last week because the beta plan page quietly restored Huawei’s devices to the list. Android Police first discovered that Google quietly restored Huawei devices. You can see related introductions and download test versions on the beta page.

Android Q Beta

Yesterday, industry associations such as the SD Association, the WiFi Alliance and the Bluetooth Alliance resumed their original status after suspending Huawei’s related membership. Only the SD Association issued a statement in these industry associations that the removal of Huawei is a technical error. The IEEE also issued a statement saying that it suspends Huawei and its affiliates from participating in the review of the paper, but other aspects such as membership and voting rights are not affected.

It seems that these companies or organizations are now assessing the situation, that is, assessing which ones can continue to do in accordance with the US ban. Perhaps the same is true for Google’s resumption of Huawei’s device participation test program, which means that Huawei’s device participation testing may not violate the US ban.
