Google Pixel 2/2 XL get the official support of the LineageOS 20

Some time ago we reported on LineageOS 20, a third-party ROM based on Android 13. With its official release, more and more models are supported. It can be noticed that in addition to relatively new devices, some mobile phones released a few years ago can also get the installation package of LineageOS 20.

According to a report from XDA Developers, Google’s Pixel 2 series was recently added to the support list of LineageOS 20. The series includes two mobile phones, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, which were released in October 2017, and the SoC is Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Their factory system is Android 8.0, and the last official system that can be upgraded is Android 11. With the efforts of developers such as chrmhoffmann, Eamo5, and npjohnson, the nightly version installation package of LineageOS 20 was released yesterday.

The team at LineageOS has also added four additional smartphones to the official LineageOS 20 roster: the BQ Aquaris X, BQ Aquaris X Pro, Nubia Z17, and Nubia Z18 Mini. Z17 is also a mobile phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, while the Z18 mini is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660.

In addition, two TV boxes can also be upgraded to LineageOS 20, namely Google’s ADT-3 development kit and Dynalink TV Box, which are based on Amlogic S905 series devices.
It’s great to see these old devices can be upgraded to the latest version of Android.
