Google plans to force all manufacturers to use new navigation gestures in Android Q
Google has introduced a number of new features in the Android Q version at the developer conference, including the many gesture navigation added in this version to facilitate user operations. The new gesture navigation, although the experience is good, Google does not guarantee that all manufacturers will adopt it, and some manufacturers prefer to customize their own personalized gestures. But Google plans to force all manufacturers to use Android Q default navigation, as the reason is that developers need to deal with fragmentation.
The Android UI team product manager said:
Google plans to continue to use the default gesture navigation on the Android Q version, which currently supports a variety of different navigation gestures in the Android system.
The new gesture navigation also considers and optimizes the user’s actual operating experience for different devices, and solves the user’s multi-availability requirements for gesture operations.
Of course, we also know that different mobile phones may have different needs, but we still decided that the subsequent development of Android will only support single gesture navigation.
