Google announced Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Equipped with self-developed Tensor SoC featuring AI performance

In today’s high-end mobile phone market, Google’s Pixel series has always been a small shipment but relying on Google’s native support, it has always maintained a high degree of attention among players and developers. In previous years, Google did not release a new generation of Pixel until October, but this year they seem to be “anxious”. Now they have announced the appearance and some key features of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in advance.

Since there has been news about the appearance of the new machine before, the most important announcement of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro this time is actually from within them, equipped with the Tensor SoC that Google claims to be self-developed. It’s not difficult to know from the name that this is a chip that focuses on AI accelerating computing performance, because Google believes that AI can improve the experience of all mobile phones in recent years, such as image quality optimization of photos, and items recognition. The new generation of TPU built into this SoC will be able to process these tasks faster.

However, according to The Verge mentioned in the report, Google did not specify which parts of this SoC were self-developed, and the TPU can be determined at present, and the Titan M2 security chip is developed by Google itself, and the CPU, GPU, and 5G baseband are not clear which is customized, and the performance is even more unknown.

Going back to the external part of Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the two are only different in size. Among them, the Pixel 6 Pro is equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz screen. The Pixel 6 is a smaller 6.4-inch FHD+ screen with a refresh rate of only 90Hz. Both phones have built-in under-screen fingerprint technology.

The backs of the two machines use a very special three-stage color matching design, both of which are glass materials, and have always provided a variety of color options (such as very pink, real black, it is yellow, etc.) and the large section of a bar on the upper part is the camera system part, which looks very prominent and eye-catching. It is equipped with a three-camera system, including a wide-angle, super wide-angle, and 4x telephoto lens, Google said that this time the wide-angle main camera will increase the amount of light by 150% compared to the previous devices.

Google did not disclose other features and details, because these two phones will not be officially released until October and will be listed at the end of the year. Now it is just a preview for everyone in advance. However, Google said that both machines are positioned in the high-end market, and the price is also high-end, so it is not difficult to predict that it will start at $1,000.
