GCC 5.5 released
GCC 5.5 was released. GCC (GNU Compiler Collection, GNU Compiler Suite), is a set of GNU developed by the programming language compiler. It is a free software released under the GPL and LGPL licenses and is a key part of the GNU program and is the standard compiler for free Unix and Apple Mac OS X operating systems. GCC (especially the C language compiler) is also often considered a de facto standard for cross-platform compilers
GCC 5.5 is a bug fix for the GCC 5 branch, which contains important fixes for regression and critical errors that have fixed more than 250 bugs in GCC 5.4. This is also the last version of the GCC 5 branch but will continue to be developed and maintained in the GCC 6 and GCC 7 branches.
