GALAX releases HOF EXTREME 50 PCIe 5.0 SSD and HOF PRO DDR5 memory

GALAX announced the launch of its first PCIe 5.0 SSD, the HOF EXTREME 50 PCIe 5.0 SSD, and HOF PRO DDR5 memory. The former provides a data transmission speed of up to 10 GB/s, and the latter provides products with a frequency of up to 8000MHz.

HOF EXTREME 50 PCIe 5.0 SSD has a silver-white appearance, equipped with large-area pure copper cooling fins and active cooling devices, built-in LPDDR4/DDR4 cache. Phison Electronics’ E26 controller and 232-layer NAND flash memory are used.

This will be one of the first PCIe 5.0 SSD products, offering 1TB and 2TB capacities with different specifications:
  • HOF Extreme 50 1TB: 9500 MB/s & 1300K IPS (read), 8500 MB/s & 1100K IOPS (write)
  • HOF Extreme 50 2TB: 10000 MB/s & 1500K IPS (read), 9500 MB/s & 1250K IOPS (write)
It is understood that this is not the fastest SSD in the GALAX project, and products with a data transfer speed of 12 GB/s are under development.
The HOF PRO DDR5 memory series brought by GALAX this time has a white appearance, uses a new aluminum alloy vest, uses metal electrophoresis white technology, and is equipped with RGB lighting effects.

The HOF PRO DDR5 memory series supports Intel XMP 3.0 technology, is equipped with SK Hynix’s A-Die particles, and provides three frequencies of 6800MHz, 7200MHz, and 8000MHz. However, GALAX only retains white PCBs on 6800MHz and 7200MHz products, and black PCBs on 8000MHz products.

GALAX said that in the actual machine test, the read and write speed of HOF PRO DDR5-8000 memory has exceeded 120GB/s, and the delay is only 56.4ns.
