FSP released Hydro G PRO power supply: supports Intel PSDG ATX 3.0 specification

FSP announced the launch of the first PC power supplies that support the Intel PSDG ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 specifications. FSP said that major reforms will be carried out on the retail model power supply for the consumer market, adding support for Intel’s ATX 3.0 power supply specification, and will be equipped with a new PCIe 5.0 power supply interface.
FSP said that its newly upgraded Hydro G PRO 850 W/1000 W series and Hydro PTM PRO 850 W/1000 W/1200 W series have PCIe 5.0 CEM (12VHPWR) connectors and matching 12Pin+4Pin cables. The rated power of the external power interface of the new graphics card can reach 600W, which will realize a seamless connection between the new generation graphics cards.
If the power supply is not equipped with a PCIe 5.0 external power supply interface, to achieve the same power supply effect on the next-generation graphics card, users can use an adapter cable to replace it with three traditional 8Pin external power supplies. It’s just that the wires using the PCIe 5.0 external power supply interface are always more convenient to connect, and they will occupy less space while providing a more stable power supply, which is also conducive to players’ overclocking.
In order to distinguish the old and new versions of the power supply, FSP will have a clear label on the outer packaging of the power supply, so that users can easily distinguish the version of the power supply and the change of the modular interface. FSP hopes that the upgraded power supply can meet the needs of players to build high-performance platforms with the current or future generation of graphics cards, and provide a stable power supply for any hardware in the host.
