Four iPhone 13 models exposed, iPhone 13 Pro has 120Hz LTPO OLED screen

According to the latest announcement from the Korean media ETNews, the iPhone 13 series will have four models, continuing the existing layout, named iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The screen size will also continue the existing specifications. They are 5.1, 6.1, 6.1, and 6.7 inches.

Among them, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 both use the traditional LTPS OLED, and the refresh rate is maintained at 60Hz. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be upgraded to the new LTPO OLED, and the refresh rate is also up to 120Hz.

LTPS is currently the most mature OLED backplane technology, but power consumption will increase significantly at high refresh rates. This is also considered to be the main reason why the iPhone 12 does not have a high refresh rate.

LTPO is a new type of OLED backplane technology, which combines the advantages of LTPS and IGZO technologies, adds an oxide layer, can achieve higher charge mobility at a lower cost, and the refresh rate can be based on the display The content is switched between 1-120Hz, thereby greatly reducing power consumption.

At present, Apple Watch has introduced LTPO backplane technology to achieve 18 hours of long battery life under constant screen display.

As for the iPhone 13’s screen suppliers, Samsung and LG are currently considered most likely, while it doesn’t mention BOE anywhere.
