Firefox browser v63 release: anti-cross-site tracking and adaptive black theme
Firefox 63 is mainly designed to improve the user’s “privacy protection,” such as enhanced tracking protection (Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP), and the proposal to push users to subscribe to VPN – VPN to provide users with protection and privacy, thus avoiding Tracking and monitoring of the network “eavesdropper.”
For the average user, the new official version has two main points worthy of attention: a new anti-cross-tracking feature and a new black theme for Windows 10.
Adaptive black theme:
Microsoft has added a black theme to Windows 10 Version 1803, which users can turn on in the personalized color options.
The Resource Manager also supports black themes in Windows 10 Version 1809, which seems to be more coordinated when the user is using it every day.
The adaptive black theme of Firefox browser will mainly change with the setting of Windows 10. By default, users do not need to set it manually.
The exception is if the user does not want Firefox to follow the Windows 10 theme changes, then other color themes can be enabled in the theme settings.
As shown above: Set the default to switch with the theme of Windows 10 automatically, set the bright color, the theme of the dark color settings, use the dark theme.
Anti-cross-site tracking: privacy protection + blocking ads
The new official version of Firefox is also officially launched for long-term anti-cross-site tracking, which is designed to protect user information from cross-site tracking.
Of course, it sounds complicated and can be understood very simply as an ad blocking feature. Even if the user does not need to install other ad blocking after enabling this feature.
Anti-cross-site tracking blocks most common ad network tracking scripts, so ads for these ad networks can’t be loaded after the interception.
Currently, this feature has not been enabled by default. However, as shown in the figure above, Firefox will use the shield in the address bar to prompt the user that the anti-spam tracking function has not been turned on.
Click on the Shield to see the detailed description and click Enable to block this site. After blocking, you will not see the online advertising of the ad network.
