Firefox 82 releases: optimize GPU/CPU usage for video playback

Mozilla currently provides a Firefox 82 stable version on its server. During the beta period, Firefox brought many optimizations to the performance of this version, including a 10% increase in window opening speed and a 17% increase in session recovery speed.

At the same time, the Windows version of Firefox can call the Directcomposition technology, which supports video hardware decoding to improve playback performance.

The processor and graphics card resources will also be reduced, so it will also help improve the battery life of the notebook, and the video picture-in-picture button has also been redesigned.

The Android version of Firefox brings an automatic cookie cleaning function to prevent tracking, which is called ETP cookie purging in Firefox.

By default, the Android version of Firefox is automatically enabled with this function. If the user has not interacted with a specific website for 30 days, the cookie and cache will be cleared.

It sounds like this design is quite interesting. It can not only help users avoid trackers automatically, but also reduce space usage to keep the database at its best efficiency.Firefox 82
