Excel is fully supported on devices with Apple Silicon CPUs

Microsoft recently launched Office for Mac version 16.57. According to the release notes, Excel has been redeveloped based on the Apple M1 chip, which means that the native version does not need to be converted by Rosetta 2.

This means that MacBooks with M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max now get better performance when using Excel. Especially those spreadsheets that use the Power Query function can get faster query efficiency and reduce power consumption.

However, Microsoft also reminds users to switch to the native version of Excel, please disable the use of the Rosetta 2 simulation layer before running, of course, if users are not too troublesome, they can also uninstall and reinstall directly.
This update is applicable to Office 365 for Mac, Office 2019 for Mac, Office 2021 LTSC for Mac and Office 2021 for Mac. Mac users using these versions can check the update directly in the software to obtain the new version. Please restart the Office application after the update.
