Elgato launches HD60 X external capture cards
Elgato announces the launch of a new generation of powerful HD60 X external capture cards. The HD60 X is based on Elgato’s original high-end capture card, the 4K60 S+, with a new architecture and the size of a palm. It features state-of-the-art specs and seamless compatibility with next-gen consoles, allowing players to record in the highest quality formats without limitations.
Players can play games while broadcasting live on the network with 1080P/60FPS picture quality and record the material to the hard disk with 1080P/60FPS/HDR10 specifications. Instant Gameview technology synchronizes the player’s broadcast with the game, monitoring capture sources with ultra-low latency. The HD60 X supports 4K/60FPS/HDR10 pass-through, as well as a Variable Refresh Rate.
Elgato offers the 4K Capture Utility (4KCU), a powerful and easy-to-use game capture software, for gamers and creators who wish to record without limitations. The software will capture everything in 1080P/60FPS/HDR10 or 4K/30FPS picture quality, plus 48kHz raw audio, including games, cutscenes, soundtracks, and chats. After the 4K Capture Utility is turned on, it will start to temporarily cache the video, and the user can pull the progress bar to the place where they want to start recording to record. It automatically caches hours of gameplay so users can capture it retroactively at any time. Users can also save the sound as a separate track and adjust the volume on the fly via Live Commentary. For recording while live, Stream Link technology will natively output the HD60 X to software such as 4K Capture Utility and OBS Studio.
Videos will be saved directly to the hard drive in HEVC format, 4K Capture Utility comes with handy file management tools, and files can be anywhere as AAF files for editing in software like Adobe Premiere or Vegas Pro. Elgato says the HD60 X is fully compatible with PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and dual-PC setups, allowing users to capture games at the highest quality without compromising the gaming experience.
Elgato and CORSAIR will ship soon to retailers and resellers worldwide, and the HD60 X comes with a two-year warranty.
