Asus, Seasonic & Silverstone to launch next-gen ATX 3.0 & Gen 5

Both Nvidia and AMD will soon release next-generation GPUs that update and tweak their existing graphics card lineups. The former will introduce a new PCIe 5.0 (12VHPWR) external power supply interface on the GeForce RTX 40 series based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, but AMD does not seem to have this plan yet. At present, power supply manufacturers are also busy with the final preparations for new products to launch new power supplies that are compatible with the ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 power supply standards, fully meeting the needs of the new generation of CPU and GPU platforms. Due to the slow frequency of power supply updates, general products will continue to be sold for several years.

According to Wccftech, several brands of new ATX 3.0/PCIe5.0 power supplies have been spotted recently, including products from Seasonic, SilverStone, and Asus.
Seasonic is producing products in its PS Vertex series, rated between 1000W and 1200W, certified as 80 PLUS Gold or 80 PLUS Platinum. These power supplies will be equipped with a PCIe 5.0 external power supply interface. Among them, 80 PLUS Gold-certified products adopt a semi-modular design, while 80 PLUS Platinum-certified products adopt a fully modular design.

Judging from the prices leaked by e-commerce platforms, the 1000W and 1200W of 80 PLUS Gold are priced at $231 and $258, respectively, and the 1000W and 1200W of 80 PLUS Platinum are priced at $267 and $304, respectively.

SilverStone will be launching the HELA 850R Platinum, an ATX-spec modular power supply certified by Cybenetics and 80 PLUS Platinum. The ultra-flexible black flat wire is used, which can achieve 24/7 continuous power output at an operating temperature of 50°C, and is equipped with a 135mm fan, which can achieve zero-noise operation when stopped.

Asus ATX 3.0
ASUS brought the ROG LOKI series of modular power supplies, featuring SFX specifications, but currently using the extended SFX-L specifications. The first batch of products will have four types: 1200W, 1000W, 850W, and 750W. There will be two colors of black and white, of which the 1200W model is 80 PLUS Titanium certified, while the other three products are 80 PLUS Platinum certified, and all have been certified by Cybenetics.
