Asus announces ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboard

Recently, AMD announced the Zen 4 architecture Ryzen 7000 series processors, and the new AM5 platform at the Computex Taipei online conference. Although the specific specifications of the processor and platform have not been announced, at least it has been determined that the first AM5 platform will have three motherboards: X670E, X670, and B650.

After the online conference, ASUS ROG also announced the configuration parameters of a new generation of AMD’s high-end motherboard – ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme for the first time. According to the information, this new motherboard is quite ROG-style, and is also specially equipped with an AniMe Matrix LED display, which supports users to carry out DIY personalized settings.

In terms of core configuration, the ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboard will support a new generation of DDR5 memory, which will bring about 50% faster energy efficiency than the previous generation of DDR4. This motherboard has a ton of hardware and firmware optimizations that allow users to push their overclockable kit to the absolute limit.
In terms of interfaces, the ROG Crosshair X670E Extreme motherboard is equipped with 2 PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, which are fully prepared for the graphics card behind. There are five M.2 NVMe SSD slots, four of which support PCIe 5.0, and six SATA 6Gbps ports, ensuring that users can have greater storage capacity. In addition, the board of motherboard is also equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 2×2 connector, which supports Quick Charge 4+ and 60W of charging power.

It is worth mentioning that the motherboard uses a 20+2 phase power supply with a power supply current of 110A. Also, no pricing information is currently available.
