Asus announces 25% price cut for its RTX30 series graphics cards starting April 1st

ASUS recently sent a promotional email notification to some consumers that ASUS has decided to reduce the price of all RTX 30 series graphics cards by 25% from April 1. The price cuts include RTX 3050, RTX 3060, RTX 3070, RTX 3080, RTX 3090, but Asus did not mention the specific sub-models. Take the ASUS RTX 3060 12GB version sold at Best Buy in the United States as an example. The current price is $550, and the price is $412.5 after a 25% reduction. The current price of the ASUS RTX 3080 12GB version is $1,500, and the price is $1,125 after a 25% price reduction. The overall price reduction is still very impressive. But please note that ASUS is talking about a maximum price reduction of 25%, and it does not explicitly state that all sub-models will be discounted by 25%, so it remains to be seen.
ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 LHRAs a result of the latest tariff lift on Chinese imports from the Office of the United States Trade Representative, Gamers and PC enthusiasts will see lower prices on ASUS GeForce RTX 30-series graphic cards starting on April 1st, 2022,” an Asus rep told.

From ASUS’s description, it can be seen that ASUS’s substantial price reduction is due to tariff exemptions, not the price reduction caused by the cost reduction of the graphics card itself. Although there has been news that Nvidia is reducing chip prices, and recent graphics card prices have indeed seen relatively obvious price cuts, the premium rate is still quite high.
