ASRock releases Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit

ASRock has recently launched Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) network card upgrade kits for its new AMD and Intel motherboards, both of which are M.2 Key-E 2230 specifications, but only applicable to ASRock’s own motherboard products.
ASRock has not confirmed which chip is used in the two Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kits, but according to the technical specifications, the AMD version of the Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit seems to use AMD RZ608. This is a chip based on the MediaTek MT7921K, which debuted last year. This AMD version of ASRock’s Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit supports dual-band 2×2, MU-MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2, and is a PCIe interface.
ASRock Wi-Fi 6E Kit

The AMD version of the Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit not only supports ASRock’s AMD AM4 platform-related products but also some Intel 300 series or above motherboards. The scope of the application is still relatively large, which is not the same as the Intel version of the Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit.

The Intel version of the Wi-Fi 6E network card upgrade kit is likely to use the AX211 or AX411 chip, using the latest CNVIo2 M.2 interface, resulting in incompatibility with older chipsets and Core series processors. It can only be used on Intel 600 series or above motherboards of ASRock, and also supports dual-band 2×2, MU-MIMO, and Bluetooth 5.2.
