ASRock Launches Blazing Quad M.2 Expansion Card
Recently, ASRock launched an expansion card called Blazing Quad M.2 Card, which is also the largest M.2 expansion card of ASRock so far. With this expansion card, four more PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots can be added to the motherboard, greatly expanding the storage system. ASRock released the W790 WS motherboard before and mentioned this expansion card at that time.

The Blazing Quad M.2 expansion card has an overall size of 9.6 x 4.97 inches and is equipped with four PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots arranged at 45° to shorten the wiring distance of signal lines as much as possible and provide better signal integrity for high-speed data transmission. The M.2 slot supports 2242/2260/2280/2580/22110/25110 specifications, and the maximum bandwidth of each M.2 slot can reach 128 Gb/s (PCIe 5.0 x4).
The Blazing Quad M.2 expansion card adopts a dual-fan cooling design, which is a PWM fan, and a cooling pad is added to the M.2 slot. Coupled with the equipped XXL aluminum heat sink, it can maintain efficient heat dissipation of the SSD and achieve continuous high-performance output. Compared with previous SSDs, although PCIe 5.0 SSDs have stronger performance, they consume more power and generate more heat. The active cooling design seems to be essential. There are four LED lights on the baffle, which can display the status of the four SSDs so that users can judge the working status of the SSD. In addition, this expansion card also needs a 6Pin external power supply to provide enough power for the SSD.

ASRock did not disclose the launch time and price of the Blazing Quad M.2 Card, and it is expected that it will be released simultaneously with the W790 WS motherboard.
