Apple Watch Series 8 may not be equipped with body temperature sensor

A few months ago, Apple launched the Apple Watch Series 7. Except for the on-cell OLED display with a higher screen ratio, the overall design has not changed much. There have been reports that Apple is testing adding blood sugar and blood pressure features to the Apple Watch. This matter has also been confirmed by Apple and has relevant patents, however, due to reasons such as size and technology, these functions were not realized in the end, and the body temperature sensor did not get an exact answer from Apple.
It is rumored that the Apple Watch’s body temperature sensor has come out last year, but it has not been applied to the product. According to Wccftech‘s report, even the future Apple Watch Series 8 is unlikely to add this feature, and it may take two or three years before it is possible. Body temperature detection should be a very common function, and many things may be used in real life, such as detecting whether you have a fever.
In the past, it was reported that the Apple Watch Series 7 will use a non-invasive optical sensor to detect blood sugar and blood pressure. Even to Apple Watch Series 8, it won’t necessarily be added. In the eyes of many users, compared to the upgrade of Android smart wearable devices, the upgrade of the Apple Watch is fewer. Except for the improvement in the screen and some details, there are not many highlights that evoke the desire to buy.

From a commercial point of view, Apple Watch is still very successful. Last year, statistics pointed out that it accounted for more than half of global smartwatch shipments. In terms of users, the Apple Watch is Apple’s fourth-largest product, trailing only the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
