A12 Bionic

Ivan Krstic is Apple‘s director of security engineering and architecture and has participated in the Black Hat Security Conference many times. The presentation focuses on three areas related to security, starting with code integrity implementation, which is a key part of the iOS security architecture. The presentation covers the history of code and memory integrity techniques in the iOS kernel, as well as the pointer authentication code in the A12 Bionic and S4 chips, which prohibits the modification of important elements that can cause memory corruption errors.
