Apple releases iOS 14.5.1 to fix 0-day vulnerabilities

Apple today pushes the system updates of iOS and its branch versions to users, as well as the system updates of macOS. Specifically, including macOS Big Sur 11.3.1, iOS 14.5.1, iPadOS 14.5.1, watchOS 7.4.1, for old devices, Apple also provides iOS 12.5.3, iPadOS 12.5.3 updates.

iOS 12.1.1

This system update is a security update. Apple did not provide a more detailed description in the update description. However, Apple said that this update fixes the App Tracking Transparency issue. In addition, iOS 14.5.1 fixes problems in the WebKit browser engine which may cause arbitrary code to be executed when processing specially crafted Web content, which may cause a buffer overflow, integer overflow, memory exceptions, etc.

From the point of view of the version number, the direct changes brought about by this update may be small, but considering that it also provides an update of iOS 12.5.3 for older devices, indicating the severity of the “security” issues related to this update. It is still recommended to take the time to update.
