Apple may release 15.5-inch MacBook Air in April: Optional up to M2 Pro

Apple launched a new MacBook Air last year with a new design and a new generation of M2 chips. The new MacBook Air abandons the previous standard body design in appearance and adopts the design style of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2021. The corners have become more rounded, the body has become thinner and lighter.

According to Wccftech reports, Apple is preparing a larger MacBook Air with upgraded internal configuration, which will be launched in April this year. As rumored in the past, the screen of the new product is 15.5 inches, Apple’s supply chain partners are already preparing, and the screen suppliers are already producing the required display panels.
It is rumored that the Apple 15.5-inch MacBook Air will follow the design language of the 13.6-inch version, with flat edges, a larger touchpad, a keyboard with function keys, etc. Apple will also upgrade the speaker and front-facing camera, and there will be a larger battery, which should have better battery life. The Apple 15.5-inch MacBook Air will be the largest ever in the series, with options up to the M2 Pro chip.

The M2 Pro continues the original architectural design of the M2 and is manufactured using the second-generation 5nm process (N5P). 40 billion transistors are integrated inside, which is nearly 20% more than M1 Pro and double that of M2. It provides 32GB of low-latency unified memory and achieves a unified memory bandwidth of 200GB/s. The CPU part is equipped with 10 or 12 cores, 8 performance cores, and 2 or 4 energy efficiency cores, the GPU is 16 or 19 cores, plus a larger L2 cache, the graphics processing speed has increased by 30% compared to the previous generation chip.
