Apple may launch the iPhone 16 Ultra next year

In recent years, Apple has spread naming suffixes such as Pro, Max, and Ultra to everyone through the M1 and M2 series of self-developed chips. The iPhone is only Pro and Pro Max, but now it is reported that Apple is indeed planning to launch the iPhone with the Ultra suffix.

In previous statements, Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple product whistleblower, said that Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will be launched in the second half of this year, will be renamed the iPhone 15 Ultra. But now Apple hopes to launch a new model with higher positioning, stronger and more expensive, so it will save it until next year’s iPhone 16 generation, and then launch the iPhone 16 Ultra.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said at a company meeting recently, “I think people are willing to really stretch to get the best they can afford in that category,” Cook said on the call, noting that the iPhone has become “integral” to people’s lives. Consumers now use the device to make payments, control smart-home appliances, manage their health, and store banking data, he said.
At present, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has been fully equipped in terms of hardware functions. If there is a more advanced iPhone 16 Ultra model, it should have stronger camera capabilities, a more beautiful screen, and a larger storage configuration. In fact, at this point on the iPhone 14, Apple has started to have different functional distinctions in the same generation. The iPhone 14 Pro exclusively has a hole-digging screen with a Dynamic Island, and the A16 Bionic chip is also unique. It is rumored that this year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max will have more unique updates, including USB-C ports, Haptic vibrating volume keys, and periscope telephoto lenses.
