Apple launches the first public beta version of macOS Big Sur

Apple officially launched the seventeenth version of macOS on June 22 this year, called macOS Big Sur. Compared with other macOS versions, this version has changed greatly. Not only the system UI has undergone a deeper flattening revision, but it is also unprecedented. It supports the ARM chip architecture because it carries Apple’s plan to migrate the Mac from the Intel platform to the ARM platform, paving the way for future ARM version Mac products.

After Apple released macOS Big Sur at the WWDC conference, it immediately provided developers with the developer beta version of macOS Big Sur to download. Yesterday, Apple released the fourth version of the Developer beta, macOS Big Sur has gradually stabilized during the changes of these versions, so Apple today launched the first public beta version of macOS Big Sur.Apple macOS Big Sur

The public beta version of macOS Big Sur supports installation by any Mac user, so users are not required to have a developer account before they can use it. However, Apple officially does not recommend users to install on the main machine, otherwise it may cause various problems such as file loss.

The following is a list of Mac devices that support macOS Big Sur:

  • MacBook (2015 and later)
