According to
Wccftech, Apple completed work on the external display “months ago” and may replace the existing Pro Display XDR in the future. The new Mac mini with M1 Pro and M1 Max works perfectly with an external display for mainstream content creators.
The Pro Display XDR is a 6K resolution monitor, and the external display will increase the resolution to 7K, but its exact resolution, overall size, and exact release time are not yet known. According to a report, the new display will cost less, although metrics such as brightness and contrast ratio may be compromised. Apple wants the external display to target a wider audience, something the current $4,999 Pro Display XDR can’t do. Apple’s external display may be priced at $2,500, half the price of the Pro Display XDR.
It is understood that there should be two types of displays that Apple is developing. In addition to the external display, there should be a more demanding display for the high-standard professional-level market. This high-end display will also be equipped with a custom chip based on the A13 Bionic, which adjusts the display of colors through the SoC for a better display.
