Apple is stepping up to develop its own search engine products to replace Google search

There has been a lot of news about Apple’s search engine service, but this news has never been officially confirmed by Apple, so the accuracy may be somewhat low.

The Financial Times recently published an article that the analysis of iOS14 source code shows that Apple is indeed developing a search service, but it is not clear when it will officially launch.

The Financial Times stated that Apple and Google have been cooperating for many years, and Google pays a huge fee to Apple every year to make Google search the default search engine in Apple’s browser.

This kind of partnership allows Apple to provide users with the best search results, while the huge fees paid by Google also make Apple make money, so the cooperation seems to be a win-win situation.

However, Google is currently facing antitrust lawsuits, and the partnership between Apple and Google has also been used as a negative case by US regulators to sue Google for monopolistic behavior.

This may force Apple to finally give up continuing to cooperate with Google, so for Apple, the company does have a need to develop its own search engine services.

In iOS14, the system home screen search function will also jump directly to the website instead of Google. This may be the tip of the iceberg for Apple to build its own comprehensive search function.

At the same time, Apple’s search crawlers have become more active recently, and Apple has already hired Google’s search director, so Apple must be developing a search engine.

The Financial Times stated that Apple did not have its own map service in the early years, but later Apple gradually completed the development of map applications, so this can be a successful case.

In terms of search engines, Apple can slowly build its own search engine to replace other providers like map services, which can solve many potential problems.

The biggest problem for Apple at present is the antitrust litigation caused by its cooperation with Google, which is likely to force Apple to completely disconnect from its cooperation with Google.

The most direct solution is to use your own search engine instead. The default use of your own search engine by various browsers usually does not cause antitrust lawsuits.

The same is true for Apple. If Apple establishes its own search engine service, it can be set as the default search and run its own search engine advertising.
