Apple iPhone 13 preview: thicker body, more convex camera

In recent years, Apple’s confidentiality work is not good. Almost every new generation of iPhone can be “viewed” online one year in advance. What’s more surprising is that about four months before the official release of the Apple iPhone 13, some media have obtained the original schematic of the iPhone 13 and made it public.

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 model will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 12 model, and will also have a larger and thicker camera module. Specifically, the thickness of the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models is expected to be 7.57 mm, which is higher than the 7.4 mm of the iPhone 12 model, but the gap of 0.17 mm does not make users noticeable.

Macrumors guessed that the reason for the increase in thickness may be that Apple equipped the iPhone 13/13 Pro with a larger capacity battery.

According to previous reports, the iPhone 13 series will support a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and the 5G baseband will be upgraded to the Snapdragon X60 5G baseband. These core configuration upgrades will greatly increase the overall power consumption of the iPhone 13/13 Pro, to ensure user experience, increasing battery capacity is an inevitable choice.

Compared with the increase in body thickness, the protrusion of the iPhone 13 series camera will make users perceive a significant difference. According to reports, the iPhone 13 lens module has a protrusion of about 2.51 mm, and the iPhone 13 Pro has a protrusion of about 3.65 mm. The size of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in this regard are between 1.5 mm and 1.7 mm.

The thicker lens module means that Apple has once again greatly upgraded the camera configuration of the iPhone 13 series, possibly using a larger camera sensor and other camera hardware, which is enough to show that Apple is paying more and more attention to the image function of the iPhone.
