Apple iPad Pro 12.9-inch is still in short supply

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is facing a screen supply problem for its latest 12.9-inch tablet iPad Pro. This may also be the reason why users have to wait a month and a half to get the tablet after pre-ordering.

Apple released this very powerful tablet with screen parameters in April. The iPad Pro’s 12.9-inch screen uses Mini Led technology. This screen equipped with the new Liquid Retina XDR has a total of more than 10,000 Mini LED beads. The entire screen has more than 2500 backlight partitions, and the full-screen brightness is 1000nits. The peak brightness is 1600nits, which can bring a very good HDR viewing experience. This is also the most powerful screen with HDR-related parameters among all current tablets.

However, it is precisely because the panel is too high-end that the delivery of Apple’s cooperative suppliers is difficult. In fact, as early as April, when Apple had not launched the iPad Pro, there was already news that the supply of this tablet would be difficult because the technologies involved are very complicated, especially the Mini LED and backlight partition-related parts. And now, some sources have revealed to Bloomberg that Apple’s cooperative suppliers are still working hard to produce enough iPad Pro screens.

Difficulties in production, coupled with the continuing global shortage of chips, make the official launch date of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro may be postponed to July. However, the 11-inch version does not seem to be affected and will be available from late May to early June as scheduled.

In Apple’s most recent financial conference call, Apple executives said that Apple will likely miss up to $4 billion in revenue in the current quarter due to very, very high consumer demand and global semiconductor shortages.
