Apple has asked employees to work from home due to coronavirus outbreak

We previously reported that Amazon announced on Tuesday that an employee in Seattle had been confirmed to be infected with the COVID-19 disease, and announced on Wednesday that all of their employees in Seattle and Bellevue could choose from that day to Has been working from home at the end of the month.

On the same day, Microsoft also announced that it has adjusted its employee office guidelines based on local government guidelines. The new guidelines state that employees in King County can work from home until March 25.

Today, Apple also announced that it requires employees to work from home. The local government at Apple’s Silicon Valley headquarters in Santa Clara County, California, has asked large local companies to keep employees at home as much as possible and to find other ways to reduce employees’ chances of contact with others.

The local government said 20 COVID-19 patients had been confirmed as of March 5th local time. Apple has now required its employees in the Silicon Valley headquarters and Seattle areas to start working from home and wrote in the announcement document: Although our offices will remain open, we will adjust based on recent guidance from public health officials, such as we will minimize close clusters and keep employees as far apart as possible.
