Apple admits that iCloud activation have login and activation failures due to sheer holiday demand

Apple devices usually need to connect to the server for activation after they are connected to the Internet. If the activation server cannot be connected, the device may become unusable for a short time.

Devices that need to be activated include but are not limited to iPhone, Apple Watch, and HomePod. Normally, activation is a very simple matter.

But what was originally simple this Christmas has become a little complicated, and a large number of users find that their new devices cannot be activated and become unusable.

This problem is mainly caused by the failure of the server used by Apple for activation. Of course, strictly speaking, it cannot be said to be a failure but the activation amount is too high and the service is abnormal.

Apple’s official support account posted on Twitter that it has confirmed that there is an abnormality in the iCloud activation service. Apple’s explanation is that the server is currently running at a high load.

The simple reason is that the sales of Apple devices during the Christmas holidays have soared, and a large number of users need to activate, which makes Apple’s server load too high to handle.

Not only are users unable to activate, but they may also encounter situations where iCloud cannot log in normally. This situation may sometimes affect the use of some iCloud users.

Apple said that if users encounter such an abnormality, please wait a few hours and try again. After the company receives an abnormal alarm, it will arrange for an engineer to deal with it.

At present, it can be found from the Apple service status page that the related problems have been resolved, and the peak of Christmas day has passed, and similar problems should not occur again.
