Apple A14 GPU performance surpasses A12Z, 72% better than A13

Not long ago, netizens shared the CPU performance test results of the A14 Bionic chip equipped with iPad Air 4 on Twitter, with a single-core score of 1583 and a multi-core score of 4198.

This score is far better than the current strongest chip in Android phones, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus, which has a single-core score of 996 and a multi-core score of 3414.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus, which will be released next year, will be equipped with Exynos 2100 chips with a single-core score of 1038, a multi-core score of 3060.

Therefore, it seems that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 series (using the A14 Bionic chip) this year will still lead the smartphone industry in terms of performance.

Recently, 9to5mac has provided the GPU graphics performance test results of the A14 Bionic chip. This time it also gave the comparison results of several chips, but this time all are Apple’s own A-series chips.

Here are some comparisons:

  • A14 Bionic (iPad Air 4): 12571
  • A12Z Bionic (2020 iPad Pro): 11665
  • A12X Bionic (2018 iPad Pro): 10860
  • A13 Bionic (iPhone 11): 7308
  • A12 Bionic (iPad Air 3): 5242

As the data shows, the improvement of A14 Bionic compared to A13 Bionic is huge, even stronger than A12Z Bionic. This data has undoubtedly strengthened Apple’s ambition to enter the console game market with Apple TV equipped with A14 Bionic. After all, according to the results of this data, the CPU and GPU performance of A14X Bionic can be said to be unimaginable.
