Android 9.0 blocked the “call recording” function

Google officially pushed the official version of the Android Pie system last week, and we expect that the OEM brand will continue to update their products to the latest Android version. According to XDA, in Android 9.0, Google completely blocked the call recording function. In fact, starting with Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), Google quietly removed the official API for call recording, but still allowed developers to create their recording methods, which also led to three-party applications, such as CallRecorder – ACR, BoldBeast Android Call Recorder.

However, Android Pie has wholly blocked call recording without root. The call recording is suddenly “blocked,” which may involve different public privacy policies. In some countries and regions, it is illegal to record calls.
