Google officially announced today the second developer preview of Android 8.1 Oreo, the final preview release of the device image for the Nexus 5X/6P/Pixel/Pixel/Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL. It is worth noting that Nexus Player, which is on the device support list when the first developer preview was released, will not receive this update.
The latest preview version also activates Pixel Visual Core, a custom co-processor for image processing and ML. Google said that once activated, the application can use the Camera API to capture HDR + photos through the coprocessor.
This version of the update is close to the final version, including the official Level 27 APIs and the latest optimization and bug fixes, as well as the November 2017 security patch update. Naturally, Google has invited developers to take advantage of the new features of the new platform to improve and develop the application and publish it to Play Mall. Google officially recommended the use of the recently released Android Studio 3.0 to develop Android 8.1 applications.
